Description:

Pueblo County Tournament of Champs

Join us for a fun and friendly step tracking competition led by our County Commissioners for a chance at prizes and glory.  Each Commissioner will lead a team, drawn at random, to bring home the Gold!  This Challenge will promote wellness by encouraging participants to track their steps every day.

Participants may use the pedometer on their phone, fitbit watch or other step tracker to record the number of daily steps taken.  At the end of each day you will need to record the number of steps you walked into the ChallengeRunner.com system either through the website or by using the ChallengeRunner smartphone apps. While it is recommended that participants log steps every evening, they have up to five days to record daily steps.

This challenge will run for 3 months. At the conclusion of the 3 months, the team with the most amount of steps logged will be rewarded 4 hours of paid Administrative Leave.

In addition, every participant who records a minimum of 10,000 steps a day will earn 1 Passport for Point.

To ensure your step tracking device or monitor is accurate, you will need to measure your step length.  To do this, follow the guidelines on this site:  "http://www.fitnessforweightloss.com/how-do-i-measure-my-step-length/" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" >http://www.fitnessforweightloss.com/how-do-i-measure-my-step-length/

Please note, an average person walks about 5000-6000 steps a day.  If you consistently log that you walk 10,000 or more steps a day you may be asked for proof of completion and may have your step distance measured by Mary to ensure accuracy and fairness for the other participants.

Steps that count:

  • Any steps taken throughout the day

  • On a treadmill

  • On an elliptical

  • Anything walked or ran outdoors

May the race begin!!
