HOW TO GET ON BOARD:
To join the fun, register by visiting the form at the bottom of this email. The deadline for registration will be June 15th! Once registration is closed, participants will be split into teams. Teams will be announced on the 'Charles IT Events' page in Yammer.... let the smack talk commence! Each team must collaborate to come up with a team name before the competition begins.
THE DEETS:
Participants will keep track of their steps/miles daily by downloading our platform tracker, ChallengeRunner. This means your miles will not get counted for your group if you do not download the free app. If you already have a device such as a Fitbit or smart watch, you can track your steps/miles through those devices by syncing them to ChallengeRunner. For those who do not have a device to track their progress, the ChallengeRunner app can track your steps/miles right through your phone (Apple Health, etc.)
Every mile walked within the team will equal 1 point. Any activity that you do, where steps can be tracked, counts! For example: walking, hiking, running... that extra stroll to the kitchen... all counts.
THE PRIZES:
Stats for each team will be posted every Friday in Yammer to help ramp up the competition. The #SneakernetChallenge will run for two consecutive months, however, there will be a chance to win at the conclusion of each month. The teams with the most miles at the end of each month will earn an additional bump on your annual health reimbursement. Each employee has the potential to win an additional $200 by the end of the challenge. That's a total annual Health Reimbursement of $400! And that's not all... we've also included an 'Overall Best' prize for the top 3 indivuals with the most points from the 2 months collectively.
