Description:
The Molex Move More Challenge invites you to Move More throughout your day. The purpose of this 8 week challenge is to acheive a weekly average of 70,000 steps (which averages 10,000 steps/day). Why 10,000 steps/day? This is the recommendation by The Centers for Disease contraol and is an approximate equivalent of 5 miles, which equates to 30 minutes of daily exercise. Keep in mind, some individuals may require more movement and/or higher intensities based on their fitness goals but the purpose of this program is to Move More throughout your day.
We will be using Challenge Runner to support this program. Challenge Runner syncs to devices including Apple Health, Fitbit, Garmin, Google Fit, Misfit, Omron, Polar, Nokia (Withings) and Samsung Health. To track steps, you can use your own tracking device or an app on your mobile phone. You will need to authorize your tracking device on your user page once you sign up for the program by clicking the red button in the top right corner that says "trackers." If you prefer to use a pedometer to track your weekly steps, you will need to manually input them into challenge runner. Participants may enter steps up to 2 days late.
The Molex Move More Challenge starts Monday, August 26th and ends Saturday, October 19th. There will be a total of 4 raffles throughout the program. In order to be eligible for each raffle, you must acheive a weekly average of 70,000 steps for the duration of the program.
Week 1 raffle date: September 6th
Week 2 raffle date: September 20th
Week 3 raffle date: October 4th
Final raffle date: October 21st
