Hydrate & Eat Fresh CHALLENGE 

Let's begin the New Year by fueling our bodies right!  Join us in this 2 week wellness challenge to drink more water and eat at least 5 servings of fruits/veggies per day.  Dates:  Friday January 10th - January 24th 

We've all heard that we need to drink water, here are just a few ways this benefits us every day:

(1) Lubricates the joints:  lack of appropriate water consumption can lead to joint pain. 

(2) Forms saliva & mucus: water helps digest food, keeps eyes, nose and mouth moist & also can reduce tooth decay.

(3) Delivers oxygen throughout body:  Blood is 90% water!

(4) Boost skin health & beauty: with lack of water our skin becomes more vulnerable to disorders & wrinkles. 

(5) Regulates body temp

(6) Flushes waste

(7) Helps maintain blood pressure

(8) Prevents kidney damage

(9) Boost performance during exercise

(10) Helps with weight loss

As for fruits/veggies, we know they taste good, but adding these to our diet can be difficult at times.  Fresh fruits/veggies require regular visits to the grocery store, cleaning/cutting/preparing more often and typically also cost more than prepacked/boxed foods.  Here are just a few reasons that we should overcome these objections: 

(1) They are a good source of vitamins & minerals.  This is especially important for our immune systems during this time of year.  

(2) They are high in dietary fiber which can help maintain a healthy gut and prevent digestive problems and reduce risk of some cancers. 

(3) They are high in antioxidants which helps prevent skin from cellular damage from free radicals. 

GOALS

- The daily goal for each participant is to drink 64 oz. of water per day (equivalent to 4 average bottles of water a day). Simply log the amount of oz. of water you have drank per day. You cannot log more than 64 oz. per day. You will receive 1 point per 8oz of water (or .125 points/oz) 

- The daily goal for fruit/veggies each day is 5 servings.  For example, if a participant eats a head of lettuce, this will only count as 1.  However, if the participant eats 1/4 lettuce, 1/2 cucumber, 1/2 pepper, 1/4 broccoli and 2 carrots, this would be fiver servings.  The goal is to add more variety in our diets which will in turn provide varying vitamins/minerals for better health.  You will receive 1 point/serving. You cannot log more than 10 servings/day.  

Note:  You can back log data up to 3 days. However, by January 24th at 11:59pm, all data must be entered.  

The final day to enter contest is January 13th, 2020.

This Wellness Challenge will run from January 10th - Friday January 24th at 11:59pm. 

This Challenge will be open to ALL Apex team members as well as a handful of our TOP referring offices.  The Apex Family has been hosting wellness challenges for a few months now and we are excited to welcome more participants into the "Endo Excuses" Wellness Challenge Family.

At the conclusion of 2 weeks, the participants with the top recorded points will be awarded the following:

(2) 2nd Prize:  $15 Subway Gift Card

If this is your first challenge, you will be given an "Endo Excuses" water bottle for signing up.  

All participants who complete their first challenge will receieve an "Endo Excuses"
